Woodland fire started 'deliberately'
Stapleford Fire StationA woodland fire in Nottinghamshire is believed to have been started deliberately, fire officers have said.
A spokesperson for Nottinghamshire Fire and Rescue Service said one crew from Stapleford Fire Station was called to reports of the blaze in Bramcote at 19:40 BST on Wednesday.
The spokesperson said crews found a "small fire" in the undergrowth and that "wildfire equipment" was used to put it out.
They added that the cause of the fire was believed to be "deliberate ignition" and that the incident had been referred to Nottinghamshire Police.
Stapleford Fire Station said the incident could have "easily spread through the undergrowth and caused serious damage to one of our most beautiful green spaces".
