Woman to stand trial over man's resort death
BBCA woman charged with murdering a man at a Lincolnshire seaside resort is due to stand trial in September.
Karol Likiera, 41, was pronounced dead inside a property in Algitha Road, Skegness, after police were called by an ambulance crew on the morning of 18 August 2025.
Sylwia Bukala, 43, of Algitha Road, appeared at Lincoln Crown Court on Tuesday accused of his murder. She did not enter a plea and was remanded in custody.
Judge Catarina Sjolin-Knight adjourned the case for a trial that is due to begin at the same court on 21 September.
Bukala, who followed the hearing via a Polish interpreter, is due to stand trial alongside her son, Alberto Bukala, 22, who denies a charge of perverting the course of justice relating to Likiera's death.
Alberto, who is on conditional bail, is accused of lying to the police and ambulance service about the circumstances in which Likiera's body was found.
The trial is expected to run for two weeks.
