Woman bailed as river search for man continues
BBCA search for a man believed to have gone into the water after a disturbance has entered its fourth day.
Northumbria Police said it was called to Redheugh Bridge in Gateshead, just before 22:00 BST on Friday, over reports a group of people were involved in an altercation, with a man entering the water.
The force said a 48-year-old woman arrested in connection with the incident had been released on bail.
A police marine unit and specialist teams from Tyne and Wear Fire and Rescue Service have been carrying out searches of the River Tyne.
The force said inquiries were continuing.
Det Insp Andy Miller last week called for any witnesses to contact police.
