Three arrested after illegal warehouse rave
Dean BuckThree people have been arrested for causing a public nuisance after an unlicensed music event attended by about 1,000 people kept residents awake into the morning.
Avon and Somerset Police said it received multiple reports of very loud music coming from a disused warehouse at City Business Park in Lawrence Hill, Bristol, at midnight on Sunday.
The force said as soon as enough police officers were available, they managed to force entry into the building and seize equipment by 10:30 GMT.
"It was pretty brutal. None of us have slept all night," said Dean Buck, who lives in a block of flats directly opposite the building.
"It was insane," Buck continued. "The entire building was shaking. I passed out for an hour and I couldn't believe it was still going at 07:00."
Upon arrival at the scene, police said they had found the building secured and barricaded to prevent police access.
Uniformed officers were stationed outside the building to stop people from entering, which led to reports of people trying to gain access by climbing fences from surrounding properties.
"They were pushing the door to try and get into the lobby," said Buck.
Avon and Somerset Police said the three people were arrested for intentionally/recklessly causing public nuisance.
One of the trio was also arrested for possession of a Class A drug.
