Fundraiser for woman who tried to save stabbed mum

More than £4,000 has been raised to help a woman who was seriously injured when she intervened in the fatal stabbing of her mother in west London.

Keeley Turner, 32, was stabbed twice when she tried to stop her mother being attacked on 18 August, a court previously heard.

Mother-of-four Samantha Turner, 52, died after sustaining 70 stab wounds in her home in Shepherd's Bush. Despite also being injured, her daughter managed to phone 999 and urged emergency services to hurry to save her mother.

Alan Dore, 48, from Shepherd's Bush, has been charged with murder and attempted murder and is due to appear at the Old Bailey for a plea hearing on 9 November.

The 32-year-old, who has two children aged seven and three, was taken to hospital where she received emergency surgery.

She now cannot return to the family home, leaving clothes, children's toys and other belongings behind, according to her aunt Sarah Thompson, who praised the local community for rallying around the family.

Donations will go towards helping Turner to resettle with her young family and cover funeral costs.

Turner has been discharged from hospital on Sunday and is the care of relatives as she continues to recover, Thompson added.

Her aunt added: "You never expect something like this to happen.

"It's devastating, the severity of the attack on her has really taken its toll on us. The whole family are devastated."
