A free event celebrating cherry blossom trees in bloom is set to take place at a Bradford museum.

The annual Cherry Blossom Festival will be held at Bolling Hall on 26 April between 11:00 and 15:00 BST.

According to Bradford Council, visitors will be able to learn and join in with Maypole and Morris dancing, alongside people dressed as blossom fairies.

Children's crafts and a story event have also been organised, with free books to be given away.

Bradford Council said volunteer gardeners at the hall would be on hand to help visitors plant summer bulbs in pots they have decorated, which they would be able to take home.

A spokesperson added: "The event is free, but donations on a pay-as-you-feel basis are always welcome to cover the cost of activities and the work of the volunteers at the museum."
