'We got wed at Latitude as love is in the air there'

A couple said they decided to tie the knot at their beloved Latitude Festival because "there is so much love in the air".

Craig Brown, 33, and Tara Sweeting, 29, legally became husband and wife on Thursday at Lowestoft Register Office, in Suffolk.

But on Friday, they enjoyed a wedding ceremony in front of the Into The Woods stage at the four-day music and arts event, which has taken place for 20 years at Henham Park, near Southwold.

The new Mr and Mrs Brown were joined by more than 30 friends and family as they each read their vows and exchanged rings before saying "I do".

Tara, who wore a white lace wedding dress, said: "I was crying from the start, and I didn't think I had any tears left, but apparently, I do.

"I got to say my vows today, which I didn't get to do yesterday, so it was just amazing to tell him how I feel. But hopefully he knows that."

Tara said it became obvious while attending last year's Latitude that it would be the perfect place to commit themselves to each other.

"We were engaged but we didn't have any wedding plans, but we walked out last year and were just like 'this just feels so right'," she said.

"There's so much love in the air... for different people, families and party guys. So, we were like, this is us, we need to do this."

Craig and Tara, who said they did not have much of a budget for their big day, legally wed on Thursday before having a meal at a pub with 15 relatives and friends.

They then headed to Latitude together and stayed in a campervan overnight before their official ceremony.

Craig, who previously told the BBC he could not wait to "marry the love of my life", said: "I've been crying all morning - this is very us.

"We will have some champers to celebrate. We're going to celebrate all weekend.

"Nothing is going to change now that we are married, but yes, absolutely we'll be back here at Latitude [for our anniversary]."
