Cyclist in group dies after being struck by tractor
GoogleA cyclist has died after he collided with a tractor on Bank Holiday Monday.
North Yorkshire Police said the 53-year-old man was injured at 10:25 BST on Bradley Lane, between Askham Richard and Rufforth.
The victim, who died on Tuesday, was part of a group of riders and none of the others were injured, a force spokesperson said.
The driver of the John Deere tractor involved, a 75-year-old man from the York area, was interviewed by police and released under investigation.
The road remained closed for several hours to allow for collision investigation work and recovery to take place.
Officers have appealed for anyone who witnessed the incident or has dashcam footage of the collision to contact them.
