The family of a motorcyclist killed in a crash have said he was someone who "lived life to the full".

Chris Howard died after the blue Kawasaki motorcycle he had been riding crashed on A417 Wantage Road, near Streatley, on the border between Oxfordshire and Berkshire at about 07:50 BST on 24 April.

Almost a month on from the incident, the family of Howard - who was in his 60s - said he had been retired and was "living the best life he'd planned".

The family statement said this had involved "gardening, holidays, our cats and motorbike trips to places like India and Albania".

"Chris was a much-loved brother, uncle, great uncle and cousin who lived life to the full," the statement said.

It explained that he had been the third of four siblings and had "enjoyed a rural childhood, having fun in a village close to the River Thames".

Having completed his A-levels at Henley College, he had spent his working life at the Post Office - where he became a senior manager.

The statement said his colleagues had "enjoyed tales of his trips abroad and of his taste in music".

"Chris enjoyed being with people, eating well and drinking rare IPA brews," it said.

Having retired early, the family said Howard had "loved retirement and was content and happy".

"He was self-assured, positive and caring."

"Chris was loved dearly and will be greatly missed by all his family and partner Hayley," the statement added.
