Two people have appeared in court charged with attempted murder after an alleged knife attack on a man in a Dewsbury betting shop.

Nicholas Wood, 38, and Jasmine Briggs, 23, both of no fixed address in Batley, West Yorkshire, were remanded in custody by Leeds magistrates on 19 May.

The pair were arrested following an incident at Ladbrokes on Foundry Street on 3 April, which left a man in his 50s seriously injured.

Wood was also charged with possession of a bladed article in public. They will appear before Leeds Crown Court on 18 June.
