Creg Ny Baa to the Bungalow re-opens over the weekend

The southern section of a major route connecting the Manx capital with the north will open over the weekend.

The A18 Mountain Road, from Creg Ny Baa to the Bungalow has opened for the weekend until 09:30 BST on Monday, when it will close once more.

The Department of Infrastructure said it would allow access to the Beinn Y Phott Road and Tholt Y Will Road, to link with Michael, Ballaugh and Sulby, although the section from Ramsey to the Bungalow would remain closed.

The route is shut for preparation works ahead of the TT until 15:30 on 17 April.

Work was continuing on the northern section of the route over the weekend.

From Monday morning, the southern section would close again, up to and including 17 April, as work resumed over the full length of the road between Ramsey and the Creg Ny Baa, the Department added.
