Corran Ferry improvement work 'progressing well'

Work to improve infrastructure at either side of the Corran Ferry crossing is going well, Highland Council has said.

The multi-million pound project is being carried out over an 18-month period, with completion anticipated next summer.

Work over the last five months has focused on preparing the sites in Nether Lochaber and Ardgour for new slipways, an overnight berth and a breakwater.

Highland Council thanked residents and road users for their patience whilst improvement works are carried out.

Ken Gowans, who chairs the local authority's economy and infrastructure committee, said they were pleased with the progress they had made so far.

"As the project moves into work around the water, things have got busier," he said.

"We recognise that this will be more prominent at the site and that this may cause some confusion for the communities in the area."

Monthly community liaison meetings are being held at Ardgour Memorial Hall, providing an opportunity for residents to hear updates and ask questions.
