Roof of heritage pub damaged in kitchen fire

A pub suffered roof damage after a fire broke out in its kitchen.

Oxfordshire Fire and Rescue Service sent firefighters in seven engines to contain the blaze which broke out at The Crooked Billet in Stoke Row at 02:20 BST on Sunday.

Crews used ladders and high pressure hoses to extinguish the fire, which continued until 14:00, after it spread to the first floor and roof structure.

The owner of the pub declined to comment.
