Swarm of bees removed from children's play area
Liskeard Town CouncilA swarm of bees have been safely removed from a children's play area.
The bees had gathered on a blue basket swing at Castle Park in Liskeard on Tuesday.
Liskeard Town Council said it cordoned off the swing and urged people to stay away before the bees could be safely collected by a nearby beekeeping group.
It said it was "fantastic news for local biodiversity" and while it was an "unusual sight" swarming was a completely natural part of a honey bee colony's lifecycle, and during the "process, bees temporarily cluster together while they search for a new permanent home".
