The A38 southbound has reopened following the crash

The A38 in Derbyshire has reopened following a collision involving six vehicles.

Police said the southbound carriageway of the A38 between Coxbench and Little Eaton was closed, in a Facebook post on Monday morning.

A spokesperson for Derbyshire Fire and Rescue Service said it was called to the scene at 06:31 BST and firefighters "made the scene safe".

The road has since reopened, however, National Highways warned of ongoing delays of up to 70 minutes on the approach to the scene with seven miles of congestion.
