The lorry toppled over at the West Park Apartments

One person was taken to hospital as a precaution after a lorry-mounted crane toppled over in an apartment complex's car park.

Emergency services attended the West Park Apartments in St Helier and two people were in the vehicle at the time of the incident on Tuesday morning.

The fire service said St Aubin's Road was closed because of the risk of diesel reaching the road.

It has asked people to avoid the area and follow diversion routes while emergency services and recovery teams deal with the incident.

The rear stabilisers of the lorry were in the air after the incident.

After a call to emergency services at around 09:15 BST, three fire engines and a fire and rescue car were in attendance, as well as the police and ambulance service.

The authorities could not confirm the cause of the incident.
