Christine Sharman stormed into her neighbour's home and punched her in the chest

A nurse punched a neighbour she had "bad blood" with in the chest and stormed into her home in a row over parking.

Christine Sharman, 69, from Llan Ffestiniog, Gwynedd, became upset when Alun Jones parked outside her home on 25 July 2025.

She went to his property, demanded the car be moved, then pushed her way inside and "lunged" at his wife, Jane Jones, punching her in the chest, a court heard.

Sharman was found guilty of assault and using violence to enter the house at Caernarfon Magistrates' Court on Friday.

The court heard there had been longstanding "bad blood" between Sharman and her neighbours, Alun and Jane Jones, often centred on parking.

Penybryn, in the centre of Llan Ffestiniog, is a narrow street with space to park on only one side - the side where Sharman lives.

On the day of the incident, she said she became stressed after Alun Jones parked his black Vauxhall outside her home.

CCTV footage showed her striding angrily up the path to their front door.

When Alun answered, the court heard, she demanded the car be moved, asking loudly: "What are you doing?"

He refused to engage and shut the door.

Jane Jones told the court she then answered a second knock.

She said Sharman was "pushing against the door", adding: "I was trying to shut it, but she was against it with her full weight so I couldn't.

"She came in with a lunge.

"I got in the way and got a punch in the chest with a closed fist.

"I was in shock, I wasn't expecting it at all," Jane Jones added.

Giving evidence, Sharman said she had intended to speak calmly and was upset because she needed access to load her car for work.

Fighting back tears, she said: "I have a long serving history as a registered nurse.

"I'm caring and compassionate. If I'd punched anyone, I'd be sacked."

"I didn't assault anyone," Sharman added.

However, magistrates said they found Jane Jones's account credible and convicted Sharman of the two charges - assault and using violence to enter the house.

She will be sentenced on 11 May.
