Cathedral reopens after tower fire
GeographLiverpool Cathedral has reopened to the public after a fire on the top floor of the tower.
Britain's largest religious building was evacuated on Friday for fire crews to tackle the blaze, which was caused by an electrical fault.
A pillar of smoke could be seen emanating from the tower and people were told to avoid the area.
The tower remains shut but the cathedral has reopened its doors to the public.
Paul McCombsCrews were called to the catherdral at about 14:50 BST, Merseyside Fire and Rescue Service said.
The fire was extinguished within half an hour, with firefighters blaming "an electrical fire on the balcony on the top floor".
