Man taken to hospital after car crashes into shop

A man in his 70s was taken to hospital after a car crashed into a shop in Bakewell.

Derbyshire Police said officers were called out to the Spar on Granby Road in the town centre at about 22:00 BST on Saturday.

A force statement said it was believed the driver of a Land Rover Discovery "suffered a medical episode at the wheel".

Nobody else was injured in the crash, which police said "caused a significant amount of damage to the shop".
