A man has been arrested on suspicion of murder after another man was stabbed to death in Birmingham.

West Midlands Police said officers were called just after 13:15 GMT to the junction of Whitmore Road and Coventry Road, in the Small Heath area, after a man in his 40s sustained knife wounds.

The force said he was declared dead at the scene and a 46-year-old man was arrested nearby. He remains in custody for questioning.

A police spokesperson said officers were not looking for anyone else, and urged people not to share video of the attack online in case it had an impact on the investigation.

However, anyone with footage or who witnessed the attack is being asked to call 101 or contact Crimestoppers.
