Woman dies in two-car crash on M40
BBCA woman has died after a crash on the M40 motorway in Lapworth.
Emergency services were called to the southbound carriageway between junction 15 and 16 before 23:00 BST on Sunday.
West Midlands Ambulance Service said paramedics were unable to help the woman, who was confirmed dead at the scene of the two-car crash, while a man was taken to hospital in a serious condition.
The southbound carriageway and two lanes of the northbound carriageway between junction 15 and 16 remained shut on Monday as investigation works took place, said National Highways.
The closure is expected to stay in place throughout the day, with delays of 45 minutes and three miles of congestion on approach to the area.
Two other men were assessed for minor injuries and discharged from medical care, the ambulance service added.
