Police name woman who died in two-car crash
Derbyshire PoliceA 73-year-old woman who died in a fatal collision near Tintwistle has been named.
Derbyshire Police said Jean Higginbottom was driving her silver Renault Clio in Manchester Road, near Millbrook House, at about 14:30 BST on Wednesday when she was involved in the two-car collision.
Despite the efforts of paramedics, Higginbottom, from the Hyde area of Manchester, was pronounced dead at the scene, the force added.
A man in his 20s, who was driving a Nissan Pixo, was arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving.
The man, also from the Hyde area, has been bailed while inquiries continue, the force said.
Officers are appealing for any witnesses or anyone with dashcam footage to come forward.
