A driver has been arrested after a woman was hit by a car in Nottingham.

Police say the woman, who was in her 60s, suffered multiple fractures including to her pelvis, when she was struck in Alfreton Road shortly after 20:30 BST on 11 May.

A 42-year-old woman was arrested on suspicion of causing serious injury by dangerous driving, failing to stop after a road accident, and drink-driving.

Officers said they wanted to hear from anyone who witnessed the incident or has dashcam footage.

Det Sgt Charlotte Henson said: "We have spoken with multiple witnesses and analysed a considerable amount of CCTV footage.

"However, we believe there are still people who witnessed the incident who have yet to come forward – perhaps because they think the information they have is not significant, or that others had a better view.

"I want to stress that anything they saw – no matter how minor it may seem – could be of crucial importance."
