River path closed for six weeks for repairs
LDRSA stretch of towpath has been closed for riverbank repairs, a year after works were carried out on other sections in the area.
The River Thames path in Oxford is shut between the Isis Farmhouse pub and Donnington Bridge.
The repairs in the summer of 2025 were for riverbank repairs between Folly Bridge and Donnington Bridge, with further works taking place near the pub.
The latest work is due to be completed by 28 September, according to Oxfordshire County Council.
Fences around the path were first put in place amid an "emergency" closure at the end of July, according to the Local Democracy Reporting Service.
Councillor Andrew Gant, in charge of transport, previously said the 2025 project would "safeguard this towpath for many years".
He added: "We realise how popular this towpath is, both as a sustainable route into the city as well as for the many walkers who enjoy strolling along the riverside."
