A motorcyclist has died after a collision with a car in Warwickshire on Tuesday morning.

The crash happened on the A3400 where Stratford Road meets Shipston Road in Newbold on Stour, West Midlands Ambulance Service said.

The service was called to the scene shortly after 10:00 BST and found the motorcyclist seriously injured.

"Sadly, it quickly became apparent nothing could be done to save him and he was confirmed dead at the scene," a spokesperson said.

The female car driver was treated for an injury described as "serious but not life-threatening", they added, before being taken to hospital.

Shipston Police Safer Neighbourhood Team advised motorists that the road was shut in both directions between the junctions for Talton Mill and New Road following the collision.

The force advised the route had reopened in a Facebook update shortly after 18:00.
