Second fire at beauty spot within two days
BBCFirefighters are tackling a large fire at Cannock Chase - the second to break out in the area in two days.
Staffordshire Fire and Rescue Service said five engines and two rangers had been called near to the Seven Springs car park at about 13:30 BST on Saturday.
It is not clear what the cause of the fire is, and the service have asked the public to avoid the area.
It comes after a fire on Thursday, caused by a disposable barbecue, that destroyed a football pitch-sized area of protected heath land in Sherbrook Valley.
The fire killed animals including toads and adders.
Disposable barbecues are banned on Cannock Chase due to the dangers they pose.
The Cannock Chase Special Area of Conservation Partnership said: "The latest fire is in forestry land near Seven Springs."
"Please be extra vigilant in this long dry spell and report anything you are concerned about.
"Even if you can smell burning but can't see smoke or flames it could be the start of a fire."
