Airport proposes 823-space car park for passengers
PAAn airport has revealed plans for an 823-space car park to accommodate an increase in passenger numbers.
The proposals have been submitted by Bournemouth International Airport Ltd, in a bid to lower pressure on the green areas and find more eco-friendly parking solutions. They also aim to plan for future requirements.
There will be direct access to the development from the existing roundabout on Enterprise Way and a passenger shuttle bus to the terminal is also being considered.
The airport, which flies to more than 40 destinations, is estimated to contribute more than £200m to the local economy annually.
In 2024, the airport applied to expand its terminal buildings to deal with increased passenger numbers.
According to the Local Democracy Reporting Service, residents can browse the entire proposal via the Bournemouth, Christchurch and Poole Council's planning portal.
