Teen missing after entering Lake District tarn

Cumbria Police said teams were still at High Dam Tarn as the search continued

Rescue teams are searching for a teenager who is missing after going in a Lake District tarn.

Cumbria Police said it was called to reports of a person in difficulty at High Dam Tarn, near Windermere, just after 12:30 BST.

A 17 year-old boy was still missing having entered the water, the force added.

Cumbria Fire and Rescue Service, North West Ambulance Service, HM Coastguard and local Mountain Rescue teams have also been involved in the search.

"A number of teams remain on scene and are continuing shoreline, surface and sub-surface searches at this time," Cumbria Police said.
