The M6 northbound was closed in Warwickshire for several hours after a crash involving a car transporter.

West Midlands Ambulance Service said it was called shortly before 14:00 BST on Thursday to the incident between junction two, for Coventry and three, for Bedworth.

Crews found the male HGV driver had suffered minor injuries, but declined further treatment and was discharged at the scene.

It reopened at about 17:30 BST, after the carriageway was cleared, although it took some time for congestion to ease.

Earlier on Thursday afternoon, there were delays of 35 minutes approaching the crash, with police advising drivers to avoid the area.

The link road from the M69 southbound to the M6 junction two northbound was also closed.
