Closures on M6, M60 and M62 on busy marathon weekend
PA MediaMotorways across Manchester will be shut in a series of planned closures the same weekend as 40,000 runners and their supporters gather for the city's marathon.
There are overnight closures on the A56, M6, M62, and M60 from Friday through to Monday, according to National Highways.
When are the closures?
Most of the closures will fall between 21:00 and 06:00, with drivers travelling in the day time largely unaffected.
Most are shut as part of planned maintenance by National Highways.
It comes as Transport for Greater Manchester has warned there would be a "significant number of road closures in Manchester and Trafford, resulting in extensive bus diversions".
Which roads are affected?
Parts of the M6 around Junction 20 including entry and exit roads will be shut from about 20:00 until 06:00 BST on Friday in both directions, with further overnight closures on Saturday, Sunday and Monday.
On the M60, the Junction 13 slip road in Broughton is shut in a clockwise direction between 21:00 and 05:00.
Roads by Junctions 6 and 8 will be shut affecting access to Sale, Stretford and Urmston during the marathon.
Late-night diversions will be in place around Junction 11 and Junction 19 interchanges on the M62 as several slip roads close between 21:00 and 06:00.
