The largest roundabout in Guernsey is being resurfaced over the next 10 days.

The States said the Weighbridge Roundabout in St Peter Port would be worked on between 19:00 and 03:00 BST each night between Saturday and Tuesday 21 April.

The roundabout will be reopened during the daytime but "road users will notice minor changes in surface levels where there are unfinished surfaces," Traffic and Highways said.

The work will take place in four stages and two new informal crossing points are being created at the bottom of Bosq Lane and across Glategny Esplanade.

The work is taking place in four stages over 10 days
  • Stage 1 - Overnight on Saturday and Sunday the whole of the inner lane of the roundabout will be closed, but there will still be access to the outer lane
  • Stage 2 - Overnight on 13-16 April, the east side of the roundabout will be closed, which will mean that there will be no access to the roundabout from Glategny Esplanade, or to or from North Beach. Exits from the White Rock wil lbe closed and there wil be no exit onto North Esplanade. During this stage, it will not be possible to exit North Beach car park or the White Rock while work is taking place
  • Stage 3 - Overnight on 17-19 April, the west side of the roundabout will be closed, which will mean that there is no access to the roundabout from North Esplanade, no access to or from St Julian's Avenue, and no exit onto Glategny Esplanade.
  • Stage 4 - Overnight on 20-21 April, Glategny Esplanade will be closed heading north, but the roundabout will be open.
