The family of a "deeply loved" father have paid tribute to him after he died in a motorcycle collision in a city.

Robin Cooper, 50, of Early Mews in Market Deeping, Lincolnshire, struck a lamp post on the A605 in Flaxley Road, Peterborough, at about 14:40 BST on 3 April, Cambridgeshire Police said.

In a statement, his family described Cooper as a "deeply loved father, son, brother, uncle and friend".

"To those he left behind, he was a great man and will be remembered for his charismatic nature and humour always making us smile," they added.

"Dad's unwavering strength, support and love meant the world to myself and my brother, and he encapsulated every element of a man we could ever wish to be.

"We will treasure the memories of a good man gone far, far too soon. Our family, beloved dog Dove, and every life touched beyond will sorely miss you," the statement said.

Police said anyone who witnessed the collision should contact them via webchat or 101 quoting Operation Poplar or incident 280 of 3 April.
