The trial of a social media activist accused of encouraging terrorism has ended with a hung jury.

Majid Novsarka, otherwise known as Majid Freeman, had denied encouraging terrorism, inviting support for the proscribed organisation Hamas and expressing support for a proscribed organisation during a trial at Birmingham Crown Court.

After more than 13 and a half hours of deliberation, jurors told the court they could not reach a majority decision on any of the charges.

On Monday, prosecutors confirmed Novsarka was due to be retried on 20 September 2027.
