Man jailed for seven years over attempted murder
PA MediaA man found guilty of an attempted murder in Aberdeen has been jailed for seven years.
Jamie Black, 28, assaulted a woman with a pair of scissors in the city's Craigievar Place in December 2024.
Black was earlier found guilty of attempted murder, and co-accused called Kelly Anne Booth, 52, was convicted of assault.
Sentencing at the High Court in Edinburgh, Lord Young said custody was the only option. Booth was jailed for 18 months.
The court heard Black attempted to murder the woman and steal drugs from a man who was with her.
Black and Booth entered a car and Black demanded the pair hand over personal items before he struck the woman with the scissors.
He then took drugs from the man.
Booth seized the woman by her clothing before struggling with her during the assault.
Lord Young was told Black was "ashamed" of what he had done.
