Access to part of the A1 in Bedfordshire has been closed after a serious collision on a nearby road.

Police said the roundabout for the A507 at junction 10 of the A1, for the Stotfold Interchange which is near Baldock in Hertfordshire, was shut in all directions.

Writing on social media at 05:06 BST, Bedfordshire Police said the exit slip road at junction 10 of the northbound A1 carriageway was also closed.

Closures were "likely to remain in place for some time", the force added. Drivers were urged to find alternative routes.

By 11:50, the slip road and roundabout had reopened.
