Man charged with murder of his mum

A man has been charged with the murder of his mum in Derbyshire.

Derbyshire Police said it was called to reports a 72-year-old woman had been found with stab wounds at a property in The Crest, Linton, Swadlincote, just after 14:30 BST on 21 June.

The force said Joan Hardy was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police said her son Adrian Hardy, 52, of The Crest, Linton, had been charged with her murder. He has been remanded into custody and is due to appear at Southern Derbyshire Magistrates' Court on Tuesday.
