Councillors have been advised to give the green light to plans to build 79 new homes in Rutland.

Officers at Rutland County Council have recommended its planning committee approves the application for land off Ayston Road in Uppingham when it meets on Tuesday.

The Local Democracy Reporting Service (LDRS) said the plans include a mix of bungalows, two-storey homes and 24 affordable homes.

Developer Allison Homes amended the plans to provide an upgraded play area and more green spaces after Uppingham Town Council's planning committee chairman, Barry Hobbs, said last year the layout placed homes in clusters with green space pushed to the edges.

Planning documents state: "The scheme has evolved from the initial design concept and draft detailed proposals following constructive dialogue with the council and the result is a high-quality scheme, set amongst a series of green spaces as advocated in the Neighbourhood Plan."
