Cargo Fleet Lane in Middlesbrough will be closed for three nights

Motorists in Middlesbrough are being warned about a series of overnight road closures to allow for essential sewage works.

Cargo Fleet Lane, between the A1085 Longlands Road and Marshall Avenue, will be shut between 21:00 and 06:00 BST from Tuesday until early on Friday.

Middlesbrough Council is working with Northumbrian Water to cleanse the sewers and clean out the gutters and gullies.

A local authority spokesperson apologised for "any inconvenience" caused by the maintenance work and stressed: "The closure will be in place overnight to minimise disruption and we are grateful to the public for their patience and understanding."
