Woman jailed after throwing vodka bottle at child
Lincolnshire PoliceA woman has been jailed after a string of assaults, including throwing a vodka bottle at a two-year-old girl.
Samantha Gardiner, 41, was in an amusement arcade in Skegness in February when she threw the bottle at the girl on a ride causing a large lump and bruising to her head, Lincolnshire Police said.
She was also recorded on a mobile phone using racial slurs which were posted to social media, and hit a person with a bag before attacking and verbally abusing the police officers who arrested her, the force added.
Gardiner, of Clarke Way, Southview Leisure Park, Skegness, was jailed for one year by Lincoln Crown Court last week after pleading guilty to a number of assault charges.
Police said the incidents were captured on CCTV and she was later spotted by the family of the injured girl who alerted officers.
Sgt Billy Spence said Gardiner's behaviour was "unpredictable and alarming for all those who encountered her that day".
"People are entitled to enjoy the amenities that our wonderful town offers without fear of encountering such distasteful and frankly dangerous behaviour," he said.
"Individuals found to be behaving in such a way will be dealt with swiftly and robustly."
