Three taken to hospital after serious crash in Aberdeen

Three people have been taken to hospital after a serious crash in Aberdeen.

Garthdee Road was closed at the junction of Inchbrae Road as a result of the accident, which was reported at about 13:30.

Several vehicles were involved in the collision - one could be seen on its roof - and multiple emergency service units arrived at the scene.

The Scottish Ambulance Service said three patients were taken to Aberdeen Royal Infirmary. Members of the public have been asked to avoid the area.

Three special operations response teams, two ambulances and a critical care team were sent to the scene.

The Scottish Fire and Rescue Service (SFRS) said it responded to a four-vehicle crash, and sent two appliances and a heavy rescue unit to the area.
