Narrowboat stranded after vandals target canal

Vandals have been blamed for emptying a section of canal, leaving a narrowboat grounded and capsized.

The Canal and River Trust said it believed vandals struck on Sunday night, forcing the closure of a "large section" of the Stourbridge Canal in the West Midlands.

It affected an area between Stourton Lock four and Stourton Lock 16, close to Stourton.

The trust said water could not be poured back into the canal until the capsized boat was recovered.

The boat remained stranded in the canal on Monday evening.
