A man was deliberately driven at and struck by two cars at a petrol station in Leeds, prompting a witness appeal.

The man, aged in his 40s, was at the BP garage on the A64 York Road in Seacroft on Thursday night when he was hit, West Yorkshire Police said.

He was stuck by the vehicles at about 20:45 BST after getting out of the passenger side of a Volkswagen Golf.

Both cars drove off, with the victim returning to the Golf. He was later treated in hospital for non-life-threatening injuries, officers added.

The force said it was carrying out investigation work to determine the "fuller circumstances" of the incident, which is being treated as a "targeted assault involving vehicles".
