Free concert scheme returning to castle grounds

A castle grounds in Surrey is to host a selection of free concerts.

Running from May to September, the Bandstand Concerts at Guildford Castle Grounds will feature a varied line-up of brass bands, ensembles and jazz groups.

The Epsom and Ewell Silver Band, Cactus Brass, Liss Band and Staines Brass are among those due to perform over the coming months.

The concerts are free to attend and open to everyone, with the public encouraged to "bring a picnic, gather with friends and family, and enjoy what could well be the perfect soundtrack to a Sunday afternoon", Guildford Borough Council said.

The concerts will take place every Sunday between 14:00 BST and 16:00, beginning on 17 May.

A guided walk exploring medieval Guildford is also being held across various dates, starting from 26 May.
