Theatre appeals for missing troll hands and mask

A theatre company in Cornwall is asking for the public's help to find part of a unique costume which has gone missing.

Miracle Theatre said a troll mask and a pair of troll hands for its production of Peer Gynt had disappeared before its performance at Above the Bay near Falmouth on Tuesday night.

It said the parts of the costumes had been handcrafted especially for one of the trolls, representing "many hours of skilled craftsmanship by the company's costume team" and is asking anyone who knows where they might be to let them know.

Sarah Ferrie from the company said they noticed the items had gone whilst doing pre-show checks and there were "all kinds of scenarios" for their absence.

She said: "We're just trying to work out where they are, where they might be - I mean, there's all kinds of scenarios.

"It was very, very windy over the weekend, wasn't it? So it was really possible, they could have been blown away - we're not ruling anything out."

Ferrie said the performance managed to go on without the costume items, but hoped they could be returned if anyone spotted them.

Founder of the company Bill Scott asked people to keep an eye out for the odd-shaped items.

He said: "We're hoping somebody might spot these items perhaps out on the coast path, in town or on the beach, it is possible that they were blown away, the winds were pretty strong this weekend.

"We would be hugely grateful to have the mask and hands back... our troll isn't the same without them."
