Plans have been submitted to turn a cottage on the grounds of a Worcestershire school into teaching and office space.

The caretaker's cottage sits on the grounds of The Bewdley School on Stourport Road and is owned by the school.

Historically, it has been used as school accommodation for staff, and is currently occupied by an employee who will be vacating the property, according to a planning application to Wyre Forest District Council.

If approved, the plans would see it converted into two classrooms, two offices, a meeting room, storage, toilets and a kitchen.

The school said bringing the property back into functional use would support its educational operations.

It added that it would help increase capacity and improve service provision for students.

The Bewdley School has more than 900 students and includes a sixth form, teaching pupils aged 11 to 18.
