Firefighters have been tackling a blaze that broke out overnight at a Waitrose in East Sussex.

East Sussex Fire & Rescue Service (ESFRS) said it was called at 03:46 BST to reports of a warehouse fire at the supermarket in Nevill Road, Hove.

There were no reports of casualties, said ESFRS.

The road was closed in both directions with queuing traffic, the traffic monitor INRIX reported just before 09:00. The fire service has urged people to avoid the area.

It added an hour later that four fire engines were at the scene with crews using positive pressure ventilation fans for smoke clearance.
