Man admits killing his 93-year-old mother
BBCA 66-year-old man from Bude has admitted killing his 93-year-old mother.
David Botham appeared at Truro Crown Court where he denied murder but admitted the manslaughter of Angela Botham.
Botham, of Cherrill Gardens in Flexbury, near Bude, will be sentenced in July and was remanded in custody to a hospital in Dawlish, Devon.
Last June police were called to a report of a concern for welfare for a woman at the Flexbury address where the mother was pronounced dead at the scene.
Prosecutor Joss Ticehurst said the manslaughter plea was acceptable to the Crown and defence barrister Anna Vigars said the manslaughter was due to diminished responsibility.
Judge Simon Carr told the court further psychiatric reports would be prepared before sentencing took place.
