Two woman arrested after city house fire

Two women have been arrested on suspicion of arson after a house fire in Wolverhampton.

West Midlands Police said it received reports of a house and garden fire on Mount Road on Friday night.

"Damage was caused to two properties. Thankfully no-one was injured," said the force.

Two women, 36 and 56, were arrested and remain in custody for questioning.

"Across the West Midlands, we continue to support West Midlands Fire Service and other partners who are dealing with several fires," a police spokesperson added.

"Our thoughts remain with affected communities."
