Crews tackle barn fire involving 100 tonnes of hay

A barn containing 100 tonnes of hay is on fire in Dorset.

Crews were called to Cards Mill Lane in Whitchurch Canonicorum, near Bridport, shortly after 12:00 BST where the barn, hay and tyres were alight.

Crews from Charmouth and Bridport, and a water carrier from Danes Castle in Devon, are working with farmers who are using machinery to remove the bales.

In an update at 16:00, Dorset and Wiltshire Fire and Rescue Service said "good progress" was being made but the incident was likely to be ongoing for some time.
