Teenage girl dies on M20 in Kent, police say
Vicky Castle/BBCA teenage girl has died overnight on the M20 in Kent.
Police were called at about 03:20 BST to the coastbound carriageway between junctions 4 and 5, near Aylesford.
The girl, who was on the carriageway in the vicinity of a footbridge near Teapot Lane, had been struck by vehicles, Kent Police said.
She was confirmed as deceased by police and her next of kin have been informed.
The force is appealing to anyone who passed through this location between 03:15 and 03:28 BST, and who witnessed a pedestrian in the carriageway, to get in touch.
A stretch of the motorway was closed for police investigations but has now reopened, according to National Highways.
